SETTING GOALS; WHAT IS IT?
Setting goals is deciding what you want to accomplish and making a plan to achieve results. Because to be effective at goal setting you need to do more than just decide want you want. Like working at accomplishing your goal and making a action plan with daily steps to take towards achieving your goal. Your plan is designed to keep you motivated and guide you through your goal.
Setting goals gives you long-term vision and short term motivation. Because setting long term goals (3-5 years away) and short term goals ( one week – 2 years away) will keep you focused and helps you organize your time and resources to make the most out of your life. And Visualization is part of this plan as well as keeping yourself accountable.
WHAT IS VISUALIZATION?
Visualization is a mental rehearsal by creating images in their mind of having and doing. Regular visualization helps to focus your mind on what you want. One of the problems many of us face when aiming for our goals is that we lose focus becoming distracted by the goings on of life. Visualizing on a daily basis will focuses your mind, setting aside daily time to do this should be a priority.
HOW DO I GOAL SET?
Be specific, clear and well defined. So the goal will motivate you.
And write down the goal, place a picture on your vision board.
Set a measurable goal that is precise with amounts and dates. And measure your degree of success.
But make sure your goal is possible and attainable and be realistic,
Because your goal must be relevant to your life direction and career you want.
And give your goal a date and time, make it time bound with a deadline. So you can hold yourself accountable.
HOW DO I VISUALISE?
Find a quite place to sit and not be disturbed.
And close your eyes and take several deep breaths and relax.
Begin to think about the object, outcome or situation you want in your life.
Be as detailed as possible, smell, touch, hear, taste and feel the emotions related.
WHY SET GOALS AND VISUALISE?
Because practicing goal setting and visualizing making and doing theses goals, will keep you motivated and focused to achieve your goals. And you will be less distracted by life, less likely to flitter the day, months and years away.
Because to get what you want out of life you must do much more than just say you want something to happen. Like clearly defining exactly what you want and understanding why you want it, then set your plan and goals. This will give you confidence and enjoyment with the satisfaction that comes along knowing you achieved what you set out to do.
